Keep me away from the wisdom which does not cry, the philosophy which does not laugh and the greatness which does not bow before children.

The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind.

Trust in dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.

- Kahlil Gibran

Lila Sklar has been playing the violin since she was four years old. As a child and young adult she studied for many years with assistant to Jascha Heifetz, Sherry Kloss and performed in many solo competitions, orchestras, and theatre productions. At home, she would "jam" with her dad who plays guitar and taught her how to improvise. Lila became fascinated with the music of the Middle East and the Balkans in her early 20s and participated in a nationwide tour playing Turkish Sufi music with vocalist Latif Bolat. Around that time, Lila also began playing and singing in several bands. In addition to recording on many film and television productions, Lila has toured and performed extensively throughout the US, Japan, Europe, and the Middle East playing with such groups as Bauhaus, Joanna Newsom, The Quarta Dolce Quartet, Gypsy Caravan, Sherefe, The Toids, and members of Cirque Du Soleil.
